My Friend Jane Devin

jane_devin_site.jpgMy good friend Jane Devin has decided to cut back on her online presence for reasons that she has posted on her blog. I first encountered Jane’s blog when I opened my own after the death of Anna Nicole Smith in February. She became a frequent contributer on my blog and as time went on, a real life friend.

It has been a tough year all the way around but made easier to handle with Jane Devin as a true friend and internet next door neighbor. We, like no one else know the truth of how trying to help someone can go wrong in ways that could never be imagined.

We both have met other wonderful people along the way. No one person thinks or feels exactly the same and should not. Some of us have strong feelings about one issue or the other but can see behind and around the issues and sometimes disagreements and appreciate the value of the people that we have come in contact with. For that I am grateful and I know from conversations with Jane that she feels the same.

I would like to thank her for the entertainment and thoughtful, heartfelt stories that she has written for all to enjoy. Special thanks to her for being there when my mother passed away unexpectedly and all the other times that she has stepped up to the plate when I needed help or a trusted friend. Jane, I will miss your internet presence but feel secure in knowing that you are only a phone call away.

All my very best wishes to you..
Sincerely,
QV

Thank you, bublaka. :-)

Yes, a difficult year, but look, there’s a new one just ahead that promises to be as bright as the people we allow into our lives and spirits.

QV, I appreciate that while you and I have had disagreements, and while we have a different way of viewing some situations and things, that we never let that stop us from communicating.

Thanks for the post, and for your encouragement. Without you, my site would not have gotten the initial audience it did, and I will always be grateful for all the help you gave me.

I’m eager and excited to start my new project, and you will be among the first who get to read it!

Until then, my best to you in all your endeavors.

Well all i can say, is it certainly has been a E-ride. what an experience, to an internet dummy. thank you Jane , for being a friend, and for letting me feel at home on your blog. Between you and QV, i felt, like i was with good people, who always had everyone else’s feelings to consider, and how , you were so considerate, to all. Your beautiful blog and your wonderful articles will be sorely missed, by so many, who came to you to read, learn to chat, meet others . We laughed , we cried, we cursed, we prayed, and i learned more than i can ever say. i for one have come away being a better person for having the priviliage of meeting you . like BOGIE would say “HERE’S LOOKIN AT YOU KID’ NEVER GOODBY

I have really enjoyed reading and contributing to the posts and articles on Jane’s site.

Along the way I have also found new friends.

I know Jane is pouring herself into a major project and I wish her well. I know Jane has a way of writing that makes the reader feel her words and that is truly a gift that a lot of writers just don’t have. Jane does!

I am going to miss Janes thought provoking articles and she will be sorely missed.

Jane – when your work is done I will be waiting to see your site come alive again. Be well and work hard.

Spam I am…LOL.

Dr. Seuss.

Jane I will miss your writtings I know the REAL reason you are leaving and I wait for your return.
I like Ksett have met many new friends. Some I still consider friends and some Im glad I learned their true motives. To be attacked for trying to do something good I want nothing to do with that type of person and Im glad I found out the true colors.
So Jane I wish you all the happiness, stay well.

Dear QV,
I worry about Jane, she’s so strong and seems so ‘alone’ and ‘devine.’
I miss her.
Love Always,
Freida

QV
I got your email,thank you :)

9 A.P. November 6, 2007 at 6:48 PM

Hi, everyone!
Jane,
I miss you, your writings, and your site. I enjoyed your blog so much. I viewed it as a favorite internet hangout I frequented because of the warmth, coziness and interesting conversation. I made some friends along the way. I have fond memories (the broken toe society) and deep emotions (passions felt to help find justice for Terry). I enjoyed the other topics as well. I hope someday we will be reunited at your site.

I wish you happiness and success in all your endeavors.

10 freida November 7, 2007 at 8:47 PM

Hi, back…
Maybe Jane is ‘On Strike!’

You know I broke my toes, too.
What a coincidence.
I still wonder what’s going on with Terry’s case, and still wish for the best for all ‘those’ who knew her, and tried to help her, and loved her.

Love Always,
Freida

Here I sit in front of my computer at 2:30 am, all alone and reading this, and remembering when I just started typing my thoughts one night like a fool and kept Jane up half the night.
QV…you know…like I used to do on this site, once upon a time in the beginning, LOL.
She finally got fed up with me and sent me an email.
She was just so darn nice, and now I really feel bad and miss her so much.
Here I go again…misery loves company, as ‘they’ say.

I guess I need to ‘journal,’ but what fun would that be. I would have no ‘feedback,’ no one to criticize me or attack me, or listen to me or change me for the better like Jane and her readers.

Love Always,
Freida

12 freida November 8, 2007 at 11:06 PM

Have you ever held a dove?
I have, and I know the softness, and warmth, and fragile tenderness.
So beautiful, so magnificent, so strong…with all those feathers and muscular wings that allow them to soar so high toward heaven.

Just some ‘mush’ since I’m feelin’ kind and loving, passion.

Just makes me ‘feel’ all warm inside…since it’s so cold ‘outside.’

13 mish November 9, 2007 at 1:44 AM

Took my daughter to a Magic show tonight. The magician turned a Dove into a white rabbit.

14 freida November 9, 2007 at 7:16 PM

Dear mish,
I love bunny rabbits, too!
They are soft, but have wicked claws.
When I was young we had quite a few…and, I’ve had many memorable experiences with animals in the past.
We also had a calf, that could really suck you almost off your feet when she was feeding from her bottle (Thinking here about EJ’s comment about Virgie being a cow), LOL.
And I had a pony, a Shetland, that was almost, nearly a horse.
She was just a few inches shorter, and larger than most.
I love animals, and people, too.
Love Always,
freida

We need Jane!!!

At least, I do.

‘She’ is ‘my’ heart speaking and writing with more education or something ‘Devine.’

Hope is a wonderful thing, and she is blessed…

QV,
You sure have ‘given it a go’ here…and seems most have gone on…getting busy with their lives.
Hope you and your daughters are doing well, dealing with ‘this’ and their personal lives.
Just miss blabbing…since I don’t talk out loud to hardly anyone…really no one, LOL.

It’s nice and safe here…
It was nicer and safer on Jane’s site…although, maybe you QV were always there, too.

Darn it, sure is hard being a mother…harder to be good…hardest to be true to yourself….Devine!!!

Love Always,
Freida

I think Jane’s book is going to be worth the wait, Freida. She told me the book will have a lot to do with human nature, and it comes on the heels of all the crap she had to deal with on her site, as well as the awful, disgusting, perverted morons from that wanna-be blog who have created endless lies about her. Christ, their stories keep growing like Pinnochio’s nose!

I suppose they don’t have any original material, being that they’re a bunch of brainless punks, almost all of them on disability, or spending years dying of phony ass cyber-diseases.

I have a feeling Jane’s book is going to be a cathartic experience for her, and a great read for those of us who aren’t stupid.

17 freida November 10, 2007 at 6:14 PM

Dear QV,
Seems like not many come ‘here’ anymore.
I was thinking of Jane today…and thinking about her inspires me.
I want to honor her…
She is a worker that writes.

Likewise, QV, you also seem to have that fortitude…since you, too are the mother of two…isn’t it?

Hi A.P.!

18 freida November 10, 2007 at 8:40 PM

This is a great quote from Jane…
“A very limited group of business people are responsible for choosing what they believe the public will buy.”

19 freida November 12, 2007 at 8:00 AM

Dear SmarterThanJudgeJudy,
I just went ‘bonkers’ over on Art Harris’ site.
I’m just so darn lonesome, and having withdrawals for Jane!

QV, you know, don’t you!!!

I’m an old ‘flower child’ from the 50′s!!!

20 freida November 12, 2007 at 8:29 AM

CORRECTION…

70′s!!!

I’m not really ‘that’ old, LOL.

OKay, I’m done…for this morning anyway.

21 Mish November 12, 2007 at 1:46 PM

Freida
Why did you go “Bonkers”?…….LOL

22 freida November 12, 2007 at 7:32 PM

Dear Mish,
…I was just so darn lonesome, and having withdrawals for Jane!

And, you know Art sure does read a bunch of mess. At least I’m funny most of the time…and I hope I make him LOL.

23 freida November 12, 2007 at 9:19 PM

I wonder if Jane’s writing a book about the ‘Birds and The Bees?’

China has good family planning it seems to me, yet improvements are always needed in a an over-crowded society…

I found this ‘line’ rather disturbing…

“However, any couple facing genuine difficulties, mainly those in rural areas whose first child is a girl, can apply for the birth of second child by going through the necessary formalities.”

24 freida November 12, 2007 at 9:23 PM

…I think ‘a girl’ can do everything ‘a man’ can do and more!!!

25 freida November 14, 2007 at 10:17 PM

Is there any redemption in my trying to be faithful to an ‘ideal’ and swaying like an old, oak tree?
Did I try hard enough…no, not nearly.
Did I work hard enough…no.
Did I try at least…YES!!!
But, did I know?
NO.
Do I know now?
NO.
Do I have faith ‘IN’ myself, yet?
YES!!!

26 freida November 14, 2007 at 10:20 PM

crazy

27 freida November 14, 2007 at 10:23 PM

lazy

28 freida November 14, 2007 at 10:36 PM

wiser and weaker, LOL.

I’m ‘out numbered’ what does that mean?

Quote from Vickie, “What does that mean?”

Well, when the ‘Prince of Dubai’ is wealthier than many, small nations and children are starving and born into poverty everyday…and some women should know better…and do know better, yet…

Poor people have the most kids!

29 freida November 14, 2007 at 11:03 PM

Strong and sweet…just erase me, please.
There’s a vine that grows outside my windows that blooms in early spring that can literally take your breath away…I think it’s called Wisteria.
It’s huge…almost as big as my house…this vine, and I have mostly not liked it’s perfume…yet loved it’s beautiful blossoms…
I live in a ‘cold paradise,’ yet with Global Warming I’m still…optimistic!
Don’t like Gore…or Guts…except the heart…and the women behind the ‘Greatest’ men that have ever lived…
Sadly, I don’t believe Hilliary is one of them.

30 freida November 14, 2007 at 11:16 PM

How can anyone not like Laura…or Barbara Bush?
Just blows me away…to think…how disrespectful most people are.
Who would be out best representative in the future…not Condi Rice!!!
Who?
I don’t want an Obama-nation, either…although, his wife is strong…she’s a little too, strong for me, LOL.

Who will America vote for…or is it rather…who will vote and who will run?

31 freida November 16, 2007 at 12:37 AM

Hugh Hefner might as well be our next president.
I bet those ‘contries’ that don’t respect women love him.
And those ‘terrorists’ would probably be pretty content…

Instead of trying to hurt themselves and each other and blow themselves up.

Hey, and America could drop more ‘Pop Tarts’ down for the kids…lots and lots of them.

32 freida November 16, 2007 at 1:05 AM

Math and Biology, Language and Science, and ‘The Arts’ and ‘Sports’ are great outlets…
Has anyone ‘read’ Playboy lately…and ‘those’ great articles by Journalists…and ‘Contributing Editors.’
Oh, what a good ‘read,’ within…all that advertising…and make believe.
Leading by example…there’s gotta be more of ‘these’ magazines that waste trees.
Leading by example…there’s so much goodness in competition to make millions on TV…
So they did.

33 freida November 16, 2007 at 1:25 AM

Wish I could come up with a ‘sum’ a ‘total’ a ‘solution’…to this…

problem…that seems all about ‘math’ and love…or is it education?

LOL!!!

34 freida November 16, 2007 at 2:35 AM

I’m really thinking this evening…and thinking of what I’ve written in the past…mostly, every time that just got me into trouble, LOL.
Just like when I was ‘kid,’ LOL.

Women really need, in fact, I believe, to give and love, seems we need to put-out no matter what.

I guess men, really do, too!!!

Hope is a wonderful thing.

I’ve always believed a person should have faith in themselves, yet I’ve only recently learned the key word here is ‘in.’

Love Always,
Freida

35 freida November 18, 2007 at 7:48 PM

$40 bucks to know ‘WHO’ you are, LOL.
Well, anyway I do so love those ‘tests’ and do find them to be fun.

I must be a martyr…I love tests, LOL.

Yet, really what Jane ‘reports’ is no fun at all.

So real, so serious, so deadly.

Take care of your children, watch them every minute, every second…with all your heart and soul…take care…and be careful.

I just stopped by to say the story about Rowan was so sad. Thank you, Jane, for taking the time to write it.

Freida,
Hi!!Take a listen to this!!

38 freida November 20, 2007 at 12:48 AM

Dear QV,
MySpace seems a dangerous place for young people, especially when they are not warned and guided and seems not enough parents, especially mothers, have time to look after their children, when they have to work…and especially when they have to work at least twice as hard to earn the same amount of money as a man.
I know…I’ve been there…and I’m glad I only had one child.
I wanted more, and wanted that ‘one’ sooner, but I waited, for I knew I could not have a career and children, too.
Not me anyway…I only had so much education and energy.
So many women want and have children they cannot take care of…and ‘The Truth’ is, that you should not depend on a man.
It’s all about personal responsibility and love and money.
You have to have all 3, not just ‘one.’
So, sad about that little 9-year-old girl, and her sisters, and her mother.
So sad.

39 freida November 28, 2007 at 6:35 PM

Carnivore, carnage, carnal…’knowledge.’

Lions and Dogs sometimes eat their young…for ‘meat.’

Human Beings are animals, however we are ‘meant’ to be more…aren’t we?

I’ve read all of Jane’s most recent posts.

Love Always,
Freida

40 freida November 28, 2007 at 6:47 PM

Those ‘same statistics’ apply to the animal kingdom…’At Large…where’s Geraldo?

41 freida November 28, 2007 at 7:19 PM

Sweet…

Selfless…

Imagine…

Think…

Give…

Adopt…

If you don’t have a bunch of money, have a few pets..

Don’t put your children at risk…give them your life…your whole life…not what’s left, after a career.

42 freida November 28, 2007 at 8:27 PM

I still love math, the violin, and the piano…and people like Jane and QV.

My life has been easy compared to so, many starving children around the world…

The ultimate child abuse…having them…and not being able to feed them.

Thousands of them are born everyday…

Because 1 plus 1 equals 2…

Simple Biology and Math.

43 freida December 6, 2007 at 9:27 PM

I’m a tight wod…I rarely give…I don’t even ‘tip’ much, LOL.

There’s something special about Jane, and what she is doing at this very moment, I believe.

There are a few on this planet that really give, I’m not one of ‘them.’
