Hugh Hefner was just another dirty old man.

And once upon a time, he was probably called something else.

And so was Vickie and my friend Mary.

No use trying to glorify their careers. They were all after money just like…

Not the least of which is you.

But, since I haven’t made a dime in quite a long time…

Leaves me off ‘this meat hook.’

‘Cept for as prey, I hope.

Sweet dreams.

Of course, it’s easy to point fingers and especially to focus on one that’s so famous.

My friend Mary danced in the dark, and she danced in dives and she had a baby boy when she was 13 years old, and her family pushed her out and she had to earn a living somehow…and she wasn’t easily satisfied, and she was very, easily influenced and thought that if she gave her all, that people would take care of her…she gave a lot.

Sex didn’t mean much to her, but love did. And, so…she ended up with some man that beat the ever living daylights out of her…’cause he was jealous, or was overcome with some powerful feeling that he could do whatever he wanted with her…

So, my friend Mary ended up not looking so pretty. In fact, she looked like a monster. All swollen and bloody…her face hurts me to remember it.

And ‘they’ call it ‘domestic’ violence…doesn’t ‘domestic’ make it sound rather ‘tame?’

This is as far as I can go right now.

When I look in that mirror and remember.

Daniel it seems never got over his stage fright.

But he was a real boy.

Who stood beside her and who stood beside Daniel.

I rest my case.

I love ‘Drama’ and crosswords, too!

And it sure is fun playing with ‘punctuation,’ and not having to hit the ‘shift key.’

Well, of course, what did I expect?

Nothing more…and nothing less.

Or was she encouraged by ‘someone’ to be more ‘in proportion’ to the rest of us?

And who’s who? and Who’s responsible?

Hugh Hefner just ‘skins’ people alive in or on his magazine covers, with all that art-ificial airbrushing, to boot.

Wasn’t ‘He’ after all the one that made ‘Her’ a star?

I hold him accountable, because I know accounting, and all that bookkeeping, and advertising, too.

But, she had a kid and his name was Daniel.

Of course, it seems ‘Mother knew best’ and then, or first came Marshall to the rescue…

Or maybe it wasn’t Virgie, but her sister that sold that daughter into slavery…

Culprits none the less.

Anyway that’s what I “Feel and Touch”…

Just like Virgie said on ‘The Stand,’ something like this…

“She’s getting old or cold, just like me.”

And, why is that?

Because that ‘woman’ was looking for a hand out…she was looking for ‘a man.’

Ain’t nothin’ wrong with lookin’ right?

Well, maybe there is.

And, maybe in the end we’ll know we don’t eyes to see with…and maybe we won’t need a brain, or a soul.

Anyway, seems Marshall passed and Hefner’s still alive…so might be best to not have any finger pointing at him, right?

After all he’s just the sugar daddy, that broadcasts “Those Girls Next Door.”

So maybe it wasn’t him, that encouraged her to get plastic surgery and enhancements.

Maybe she thought, really she just wasn’t pretty enough.

And who on earth is better than that, than some “Publisher” or “Pusher Man.”

Seems to me he hadn’t been ‘reinforced’ with the mentality to ‘face off.’

Sure do hope beyond hope, that Hope learns to trust and love, and take care of herself…

Hope she learns someday how to say, “You’re not the boss of me.”
