Once again a visit to paradise turned to tragedy when John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s son Jett was found dead January 2nd, 2009 in their Bahamian vacation home. Jett Travolta, 16, suffered a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay resort on Grand Bahama Island. He had been said to suffer from seizures for most of his life.
The once before was when Daniel Smith visited his mother, the late Anna Nicole Smith in a Bahamian hospital after giving birth to now three year old Dannielynn Birkhead. Daniel was not in the Bahamas for even 12 hours when his mother awoke to find him not breathing. After resuscitation efforts failed, he was pronounced dead. The cause of Daniel’s death was a methadone overdose even though Daniel was by reliable reports, not a drug user.
As if having your16 year son suddenly die would not be enough to bear, a trial will start Tuesday based upon extortion charges against Paramedic Tarino Lightbourn and his attorney, former Bahamian Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater. They are accused of conspiring to extort $25 million from Travolta for a document relating to Jett’s treatment. The pair have pleaded not guilty and are out on bond.
The pair allegedly threatened Travolta with a document that would have released emergency responders from liability if the family refused an ambulance. However, police said that did not happen in Jett’s case. It is unclear why the pair allegedly believed Travolta would pay to keep the document from being released.
The jury has been seated and John Travolta is scheduled to be the first among 14 other witnesses tomorrow.

Rest in peace young man. I pray for your family too.
I read an article that the Travolta’s were pulling away from each other over this. That their 18 year marriage is doomed. That is terrible, to lose a child then that to happen. I feel for their daughter and of course them.
Oh no! Thats so sad. But happens sometimes to families who experience tragedy.
