The Loss Of John OQuinn Is Being Felt Throughout The US But His Legacy Will Live On

in John O'Quinn, Neil McCabe, O'Quinn Law Firm

Mr_OQuinnThe death of the great Houston, Texas philanthropist and litigator John O’Quinn is reverberating through the news wires from coast to coast. From the rich and famous to you and me, tears are being shed for the man who once said,

“What I do is represent the powerless against the powerful.”

And that he did. He took on giant corporations like Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Dow Chemical and the tobacco industry and fought for justice for every day people who otherwise would have been victimized by greed and power.

I came to know of Mr O’Quinn years ago when I was researching for an attorney for my late mother. But I never knew of his generosity until the death of Anna Nicole Smith when Mr. O’Quinn flew to Hollywood Florida and represented her mother Virgie Arthur, as she attempted to claim her unmarried daughters body. Associated litigation is ongoing to this day sponsored by Mr. O’Quinn.

The good news from a source close to Mr. O’Quinn is that his legacy will live on. The O’Quinn Law Firm will continue to grow and prosper. All cases currently in litigation will be vigorously pursued to a successful outcome and that especially includes all the cases associated with the life and death of Anna Nicole Smith.

What a comfort that must be to the colleagues, clients and friends of  the legendary John O’Quinn, that they will be taken care of after his death as he did for them in life. I would not want to be an adversary at this point, as those who loved the larger than life super lawyer, proudly carry on the work that he cared about.

The lead attorney for Mrs. Arthur on the Anna Nicole Smith cases, Neil McCabe today told the Houston Chronicle, “Everyone is devastated,  John not only was the head of the law firm but a person who took care of all of us and we are going to miss him very much.”

Deepest condolences go out to the friends and family of Mr O’Quinn and Mr. Johnny Cutliff  who also perished in the crash, and was an associate of the O’Quinn Law Firm for over 20 years. May they both rest in peace.

Very sad news.

It does bring me comfort knowing his legacy will live on and his clients cared for. I was concerned when first hearing the devastating news, your article bought me solace.

Poor Neil, looks so lost and hurt in the video I saw of him.

As one of my friends just put it, life is fragile.

Would like to add a note of gratefulness to John for all his charity especially his generous donation to the learning disabled.

QV, thank you for letting us know his legacy will live on because as Neil said, John took care of a lot of people.

Hi Mary. Yes its a sad day. As I read article after article I am amazed to see the man had a heart as big as Texas. He gave so much of what he built to those less fortunate. And even had the forethought to provide for his employees and clients after his death. Its a great loss for many..

OMG, I just now learned of this.
I’m so sad about this.
What a huge loss.

I’m still in a bit of shock about it.

“Just a song”…

I seriously doubt.

Yet we rely so much on ‘them’ we think know.

Anyway….

I sure do think that those that pursue a career at law…

Are exactly like me.

LOL

I wanted to be something once-upon-a-time…

Scared the ‘H’ out of me…

Of course the ‘h’ is silent.

If only I could have heard myself play the violin.

Oh, welll….water under the bridge…and another one gone.

You know we have so much respect for people with great educations or those that look good on tv.

And of course, we’re going to lean one way or anather.

Reminds me of Stern.

And guiding Larry and Hope.

Just as idealistic as any human can be…and I’m gonna’ enjoy this high place…or even when it takes me low.

Reminds me of those painted girls in Japan…

The ones with the perfectly white skin…

Perception is an not math.

Near time for the that bland recipe for crab cakes again.

Thanks for the link Thangs.
Hey ladies.
I keep saying it and thinking it. I wish he could have had one more day to see that Stern the doctors are going to trial. O’Quinn put himself in the line of fire for Virgie and got sued for it by Stern. I think he really would have been pleased today.

Freida. One of my daughters likes her food hot. Do you want me to ask her how to spice up those crab cakes?

I am guilty of only eating bland food. Anything spicy hurts my gut. So sue me..lol!!

Great news, Stern is going to trial.

Here’s a prediction from me, he’s going to jail and he’ll proclaim it for the “common good” of Dannielynn…or so he wants his followers to believe. Putting it together logically his use of Dannielynn turns my stomach and further shows Stern’s personality for what he is.

QV, you saw it a long time ago and anyone of us who gets close enough walks away the same way. Thanks for being so gracious in forgiveness for my misjudgment and callous disregard for your feelings.

QV, I think he knows. I think all the secrets and lies and agendas have been shown to him. I don’t know if you knew, but there was an individual who claimed to be in contact with Anna, and they relayed some pretty significant information to a party who knew that the obscure information was true. I admit, I’m somewhat a doubting Thomas, but I’m wondering if this person might also be able to channel O’Quinn?

Its all good now Mary. The past can stay right where it is. :-)

Carole, I remember that. That was pretty neat. I agree with you.

That ‘ping-pong ball’ sound is not always appropriate.

Actually I was pretty good at spicing up my own crab cakes…if there hadn’t of been ‘big lumps’…you’d hardly know they were ‘crab’ cakes.

Hope your girls are getting themselves a college education, and don’t have or need no loans, QV.

Debt is misery!!!
